Feel like you're getting a cold? Drink THIS.

You guys…I HATE being sick. Gone are the days where I would secretly hope for a tiny cold so that I could take a day (or 2) off to binge watch Netflix on the couch and move as little as possible. First of all, I categorize the need for a little R&R as self-care… and second- I want to decide when I can do that. On my own time.

From the holidays to wedding planning, building my business, keeping up with friends & family, travel and the usual weekly commitments it feels like there aren't even enough hours in the day. I'm sure you can relate. You know the anxious feeling that you experience during any first symptom that you might be coming down with something.

This happened to me a couple of weeks ago…smack in the middle of the holidays- I was bummmed. So I concocted this little bevy full of components that kick a cold into left field- vitamin C, anti-inflammatory, immune support, digestion. They’re all in this cozy little drink and it’s perfect to enjoy throughout the day, especially morning and evening.

The remedy: sip on 2-3 mugs of this each day, pop a good quality Zinc tablet (I like this one), increase your water consumption to 64-80 oz, rest as much as possible. 

  1. Fill a small pot or tea kettle with water.

  2. Add 1 small lemon (squeeze the juice as much as possible and add the rind), 1” fresh ginger (slice this into 4 strips- you don’t have to remove the skin), 1 TSP turmeric, ½ TSP cayenne pepper.

  3. Bring water and all components to a boil.

  4. Pour into your favorite mug and enjoy! If you boiled in a pot, I recommend straining so that it’s just liquid in your mug- easier to drink this way.
