5 Ways I Transformed My Sunday Scaries And How You Can Too

When I was a kid, I remember feeling fear take over my entire body when my dad would flip on 60 Minutes that’s when reality would set in- the weekend was over.

The tick tick tick tick would trigger me every time.

To this day I still have flashbacks of laying on my family's living room floor feeling sad and scared and unsure of the week ahead.

The weekly discomfort remained all through college.

Transitioning into adulthood, social media meme's started to provide some humorous comfort that I was not the only one experiencing this anxiety.

But even as I laughed through pictures of cats with captions of Monday doom, I knew that something was off :/

I was unwilling to go through the rest of my life feeling anxious about starting another week (or eating all of my "cheat food" and starting a new diet).

So I began making a few changes...

First, I got clear on how I wanted to FEEL on Sunday and Monday- a balance of energized + inspired/ calm + confident.

Then I started setting up a special Sunday morning tradition that I look forward to...usually a cozy start to the day with fresh coffee, the windows open if possible, curled up with a good book (this ebb's & flows but always feels good).

I also started moving around mandatory errands + chores. Rather than feeling like I HAD to get something done on Sunday, I created new routines for these items throughout the week that ended up feeling more productive and spacious.

In line with Sunday mornings, I always save something special to wind down the day- a good movie, a few chapters in my book, cooking a delicious dinner and lighting some candles- ultimate **simple satisfaction**.

Finally, I rearranged my work schedule to make the beginning of the week less intense. Today, I use Mondays for planning + creativity and projects (no meetings or client sessions). But even before I was running my own business, I was able to create this for my schedule- it took some discussion with bosses/stepping out of my comfort zone, but was possible & 100000% worth it.

Never thought I'd say this, but Sunday might actually be my favorite day of the week now.

So if you're in need of a little inspiration or validation, I've so got you- sometimes hearing another perspective is the motivation we need to make a change.

Sending you all of the motivational vibes and confidence for this upcoming Sunday!
