How Releasing Perfection And Speaking Your Truth Escalates Success

One of the most challenging mindset shifts for my clients is when they begin to step out of diet culture and into an intuitive eating practice…really learning to let go of the "finish line" mentality.

This is kind of like walking around with a pebble in your shoe, and popping a pain reliever to disguise the discomfort.

You have to REMOVE the rock (or in this case the emotional barriers/behaviors/beliefs) to really be able to feel more present, confident, and free from pain.

This is where vulnerability comes in…

When I left my full-time job to focus on my clients and build this community, let’s just say there were lots of changes, as I’m sure you can imagine.

I was so much more interested in teaching my clients how to overcome food struggles, I found myself pushing forward and saying "I’ll deal with this later"….

Well fast forward to the middle of my first year in business. I was crying all over our house pretty much every day.

And then it hit me all of a sudden:

I was living out of integrity.

I wasn’t practicing what I preached- I wasn’t prioritizing my own well-being and really addressing the root cause in my own life.

So one teary morning, I looked at myself in the mirror and said, "let’s get real- let’s do this".

I had to let go of putting my clients first and take care of myself.

I was deeply uncomfortable. Freaked out that my community would discover that I was working through some of these issues and wouldn’t trust me. Or that I would lose all of my clients all at once.

Guess what? None of that happened.

Going through this rough patch actually made me feel more connected to my work and the women that I get to serve every day- it reminded me of everything that I stand for…

  • Letting go of perfection.

  • Recognizing that life is always evolving.

  • Inspiring others around you through investing in your own self-growth and personal development.

I’m such a believer that coaches need coaches, therapists need therapists, teachers need teachers.

And the ones that actually follow through with letting go of the stigma around asking for help and continue to invest in themselves vulnerably, are the ones that are making the biggest change.

The women that I work with have a lot of common themes- one of them being that they have a big message to share with the world.

I love helping them break free from feeling controlled by food so that they can step into a bigger vision of themselves!
